Preventing Attacks by Punching or Inside Defence — Student Version
Using Punching to Prevent Attacks
Step 1 — Stance Stand in a balanced fighting stance with hands up and chin tucked. Stay light on your feet and ready to move.
Step 2 — Intercept Early Use fast, direct punches to interrupt the attacker’s advance. Aim for safe, high‑percentage targets such as the chest or shoulder in training.
Step 3 — Keep It Simple Use straight punches because they are the fastest and hardest to counter. Your goal is to disrupt, not overpower.
Step 4 — Maintain Distance Punch as the attacker steps in to stop their momentum. Keep your guard high and avoid over‑committing.
Step 5 — Reset Return to stance immediately after each punch. Be ready to move, defend, or follow up.
